Manning up to Firescrew and over to Cardi summit is tracked out by skis and a few snowshoers. Great views of Whites, Ossipees, Lakes down to Belknap from ledges up to Firescrew. Get to see the Greens and to the West heading to Cardi.
Clark from summit down to Holt-Clark cut off well used. I followed one set ski tracks down Clark to Vistamont. Skier turned left on Vistamont. I checked my time and looked at the unbroken lower Clark.
Broke out rest of Clark and all of Woodland trail. Hoped Woodland was tracked already when deciding on this route, but it wasn't. Never stopped having fun, but Woodland was tough to breakout at the end of my loop. Fresh snow was nice but quads on overdrive pushing through several inchs of snow every step, plus pm snow getting a little heavier in the sun today.
Great day in the snow. Lots of skiers, trails in great shape. Summit was windy but not scary like it can get up old Baldy. |
