large plowed area across from gate on Cardigan Mountain Road. I got one of last spots at 4pm when I started. Looked like lot had been full and people had parked along the (narrow) road. |

Terrific late afternoon snowshoe. Snow somewhat beat up by postholers. Carried a couple headlamps but made it out just before 6pm and didn't need them. Incredible sunset, unbelievable colors. Top a big sketchy on snowshoes - I was kinda scared of falling but the rock was grippy with my snowshoes. Just tagged tower footings and booked it down. Was able to jog easily back to car. Saw several skiers - looked like nice pow but lots of survival turns it looked like. I hadn't been up this way in a LONG time - it was pretty pleasant. |
