Comments
Comments: In the morning, the Avalon Trail to the A-Z junction was well-packed with loose snow on top. Above the junction the trail had a few inches of fresh overnight snow and substantial drifting, which mostly filled in any earlier tracks. We broke trail to Mt. Field and partway across the Willey Range Trail until meeting a couple of snowshoers coming from Tom. From the Mt. Tom Spur and down A-Z to the Avalon Trail was churned by the many folks not wearing snowshoes. By the afternoon, the lower Avalon Trail was very well-packed and nearing highway status.
Lovely hike with Chris, enjoying the sunshine and stunning snow formations on the trails and trees.
