Broke trail today. Solo, so it's not significantly packed down. Towards the ridge, depth was consistently 10-inches, with some knee-deep patches. Passed a guy 1 mile in, who ended up turning around at 3,000ft. Lots of weird drifts on the steep section, and lots of blowdowns to crawl under, probably from the late Nov/early Dec event. Snow level is very high (up to the blazes) up there, so things that weren't a problem are now more so. Mostly windslab along the ridge to summit, but there were some deep postholes here and there, from before it froze over. Nothing to really worry about. |
