Trail is fully broken out to Waumbek, and the trough is pretty deep at some points. The snow is not completely packed though, and SNOWSHOES ARE YOUR BEST TOOL. There were several barebooters today who postholed every 6-10 steps in some places bc it’s very soft and powdery. I was very happy with snowshoes on, and never sunk once. Poles were frustrating today bc they had nothing to stick into, the sides of the trail are about 3-4 ft deep with powdery snow, so poles were more of a nuisance than anything. |
