Comments
Comments: The flex alp snowshoes worked perfectly on today's snow surface. The track was solid but not concrete so traction in the snowshoes penetrated the snow. There were some postholes in places mostly on the margin of the snowshoe track. Most of the boot holes were a foot or less in depth and presented no problems for snowshoeing. All but two hikers were wearing snowshoes today.
The Tecumseh Trail above the upper Sosman-Tecumseh junction has not been broken out. The Tecumseh Trail heading on the western ridge from the summit has not been broken out. The Sosman Trail heading to the top of the ski area had boot holes but no snowshoe trench.
Great views from the summit and from spots on the Sosman Trail.
Met hikers from Newburyport MA, Pembroke & Concord MA, Philadelphia PA, Newton MA, Bedford NH, and two from my hometown of Naples ME.
