Comments
Comments: Nice day, with full sun until mid-day, better than forecast mostly cloudy. No wind at all, except barely perceived light air up top. Met just one other hiker, as I was 2/3 the way down. I started out with just spikes, as the trail was (barely) adequate for this to start. A short way above the kiosk by the old settler cellar hole, the spikable firmness ended. I put on the snowshoes and kept them on the rest of the way up and all the way back to the car. While there are short stretches above the point where I went to shoes that could be handled without the shoes, basically this trail is a snowshoe trail until more foot traffic packs things down better.
