Comments
Comments: Snowshoes everywhere—except the ridge, where we switched to spikes. Bluebird skies, occasional wind gusts above treeline.

Falling Waters was a post-holed CATastrophe. One section needed side-hilling, but nothing too spicy. Then we met two people in microspikes doing an out-and-back.I called them out. "It isn't that bad," they said. It was that bad. I don’t usually complain, but their poor choices made my ascent strenuous and slow-going.

Spikes on the ridge, then back to snowshoes. Greenleaf and upper OBP were unbroken. The trees felt lower, or maybe I just grew from all the suffering. Lower OBP was broken out, thankfully.

If you’re even thinking about heading up after a snowstorm, do yourself (and everyone else) a favor - bring snowshoes. You’ll regret it otherwise, and so will the poor souls coming up behind you.
