 | Comments: |
Serious drifting has occurred since a few hikers hiked Waumbek on Monday. Had to re-break the entire trail. At times difficulty finding the trail, just a white expanse with no sign of any previous tracks. Deep drifts especially in the open, after the first half mile. We didn't know if we'd sink to knee height or mid-thigh. We had doubts about reaching Waumbek summit, but persevered, and the trail after Starr King was generally not as drifted as earlier sections. Cold, but beautiful day to be out. |
