Comments
Comments: I broke out the trail from the Ammo parking lot to the intersection with the trail coming out of the Cog parking lot, so that should be significantly better now. The Ammo is very well broken out now up to the pond. We had four people go up today, three of us in snowshoes and one in crampons. The crampons postholed quite a bit, but the snowshoes smoothed it out later. We took turns breaking trail and got a nicely broken out trail up to the Lakes hut. We went up to Monroe, but did not got to Washington, so I don't know what conditions on Washington were. At the Lakes hut, someone left the door to the emergency shelter open, so it's got a good blanket of snow in there now. Biggest takeaway - please wear snowshoes on this trail right now.
