Comments
Comments: I did a loop up Red Hill Trail and down Cabin Trail. There is a well worn trench shared by skiers and snowshoers on Red Hill Trail. Cabin Trail is also broken out, although there has been less traffic on that part of the loop. Snowshoes are recommended to keep the track free of postholes.

When I arrived at the summit, I was happy to discover the fire tower stairs were open. (I have read the tower stairs are sometimes closed in winter.) You can't get into the enclosure at the top of the tower, but there are great views from the top of the stairs.

Before descending Cabin Trail, I walked down Eagle Cliff Trail for less than a quarter mile. Eagle Cliff Trail is NOT broken out. Near the summit it's covered in about two feet of loose powder. I guess Eagle Cliff Trail is not a popular route in winter.
