 | Comments: |
With a westerly wind in the forecast I figured it didn’t matter what way I started so up FW… trail is in good shape and packed down..Little Haystack—minimal snow and I could have changed to spikes… across the ridge had lg drifts in the trail sections that were in the trees or on the west side of the trail… Lincoln and Lafayette could have been spiked but the drifts in between were 2’ at times…icy sections on the north side of N Lincoln and the west side of Lafayette on the descent…cairns are snow encrusted and difficult to see for the descent of Lafayette and could be an issue in reduced visibility.. a lot of navigating here..anyone out tomorrow might get lucky and see my tracks..but I was solo so expect to be breaking thru the windblown drifts |
