Comments
Comments: The lower couple of miles was fairly well packed. Some intermittent drifting was found beyond Mt. Surprise for about a mile. The final 1.5 miles to the summit had considerable drifting in some areas. Combined with several blowdowns, this final push was slow going as we went over, around, under, or through the fallen trees. The winds had lessened and the snow fog had cleared over Washington by the time we got to the summit, so the view was spectacular. Our 4 sets of snowshoes made a solid track for a quick descent today. A cold, but lovely hike with Sarah, Renee, and Gregg. We saw only one other hiker today going up as we were going down.
