Comments
Comments: The last few small storms have brought winter conditions. We picked up a few inches on Monday and then another inch last night. Snowshoes from here on out on this route.

Old Mountain Road was a mess of postholes by an inconsiderate postholer earlier in the day. Since the ice bulges are still growing, they were postholing into slush in quite a few places, whereas snowshoes floated on top.

Crawford Ridgepole was actively drifting this afternoon. Many of the postholer's tracks are gone, as are my snowshoe tracks in places. What is not gone is the broken branches from where the postholer thrashed through trail-side vegetation to try to circumvent deep snow drifts.

Generally about a foot of powder down low with three foot drifts in places on the ridge.

Windy afternoon with temperatures in the 20s.
