Comments
Comments: Once I turned onto Baldface Circle, the trail was not super well packed down. It looks took the left route via. Slippery to Eastman and I would find out why soon. Put on snowshoes along the way just because it gets tiring walking in deeper snow. Shortly after the hut I turned around. The steep ledges above the hut were covered with a mix of snow, ice and exposed rock. It was very difficult and time consuming trying to climb them. I wished I had brought my ice axe but didn't know about the ledges. Once my time had started to slow to about 1 mph because of how long it was taking me to climb them, and concern about a dangerous slide down if I slipped and fell, I decided to turn around. I will return next weekend to try and summit via. Slippery Brook. I guess the ledges are why it looks like many go the other way.
