Valley Way packed. One ice flow about halfway up, there's a herd path around it. Some drifting near the top, but not enough for me to put the snowshoes on (though Tim C, who was with us, did prefer to wear his 'shoes through the drifts).
Alex and I wore Hillsound Pros on Valley Way and above treeline. I felt they were perfect for the conditions all day (though microspikes would have been fine for Valley Way). Tim C wore his snowshoes up Valley Way and to Adams, then switched to crampons for Madison.
Gorgeous day above treeline. Sunny, clear skies, little to no wind. Couldn't have asked for a better day.
Congrats to Tim C for completing his third 48-in-one-winter! We were honored to be there for his finish. |
