After a full morning snowboarding at Ragged, I drove back to New Canada Rd to hike Ragged. Around 6-8" fresh snow - no obvious track after the major right turn up the logging rd. Breaking trail wasn't too bad but it's not consolidated. Going up/down the rockslide section (around 1/3 mi above the Ridge trail Jct) was really tough on snowshoes because it was pretty bony. There isn't a good snow base so many times rocks turned my (bad) ankles - it was kinda challenging for me. Trail runs through Rags to Riches glade which was not open. Super pretty. |
