Finally, some better snow coverage in this part of the state so off to Cogswell I went. This is a nice trail system for snowshoeing with wide corridors and easy grades. A leisurely 11:30 a.m. start meant I didn't get to make fresh tracks. Two snowshoers were coming out of the woods just as I arrived.
Snow depths ranged from two to six-ish inches, trending more toward the latter. Snowshoes are the most efficient way to go here at the moment. Out of the six people I saw, four were in 'shoes and two were in bare boots, so these trails need more snowshoe love to get them into good shape. |
