Comments
Comments: New month and a new list. Figured with high winds ISO would be a good choice.

Couple inches of snow on the ground at the TH. Rocky branch had a clear trench that was easy to follow, but new snow meant snowshoes were the clear choice. Trench continued until about half way through engine hill albeit at a lower elevation than normal, where it forked, but none of the paths seemed to continue much past the fork - I suspect the authors bailed at this point. So I took the high path and started true trail breaking with no evidence of prior tracks in sight. Got myself into some nasty waste deep spruce and then b-lined for Iso trail, joining it maybe 1/2 mile south of Iso express. Iso trail had a nice old trench that was firm enough and easy to follow to the half mile was quick.

Iso express had a similarly nice trench with a couple inches of snow on top. Easy to follow although it goes a little north of the standard route and misses the view point. Still a lovely track. Davis path and summit spur were in good shape and on my descent I met 12 folks - all in snowshoes who had followed my EH tracks. Made for a much easier return trip and made me think my route in EH wasn’t half-bad. After another 12 sets of shoes coming down this afternoon, should be in great shape, even with some drifting in the glades.
