Comments: Late in posting this, but other than a few more inches of snow, conditions probably have not changed.

Church Pond is a sweet little hike/snowshoe but unfortunately has a ford of the Swift River right at the start. Wiggy's Waders worked like a charm. Water was just under knee deep and not moving fast.

The snowshoe was very nice: quiet solitude, untouched powder, nice views of Green's Cliff, and some critter tracks. A short section of Church Pond Trail coincides with Nanamocomuck Ski Trail; no one had been on that recently.

Last time I hiked this trail, it was Church Pond Loop, but the east branch was closed due to wet/boggy terrain. In wintertime, with the boggy sections frozen, the loop could probably still be hiked. I did not, however. Trail now culminates on a lovely little knoll covered with red pines, a very picturesque setting.

Also hiked Lovequist Loop (plowed parking at Rocky Gorge Scenic area) and Rail & River Trail (no plowed parking; bring a shovel). Interestingly on this day snowshoes were not needed on the former but were on the latter.
