 | Comments: |
4 of us broke out the trail. The first 2 miles were relatively flat. Then we started to climb and it was so incredibly steep. The snow was knee deep in some places and it was very hard to climb. A lot of sliding back with each step forward. Coming down involved a lot of butt sledding, mostly unplanned. The snow was so soft that it was hard to get traction. Wore snowshoes all day. Took the bypass to the bypass on the chimney. Total of 5 other people on the trail all wearing snowshoes so it helped to pack it down.
