Comments
Comments: I was on the fence at the trailhead, but opted for snowshoes. Initially was second-guessing the pick, but was glad to have them when I got around the corner to the massive ice bulges (I would be uncomfortable with rock spikes), and then the drifting flats on the Crawford Ridgepole. A few bony sections in the usual places. Generally 2 to 3 inches of powder on Old Mountain Erode (with long stretches of wall to wall ice bulges, including some soft ones where barebooters are postholing into the slush), but 6 to 10 inches in the usual drifting areas on the ridge. More snow on this stretch than on the Old Bridle Path and Red Hill Trail.

Another sunny afternoon with temperatures in the teens and dropping.
