Comments
Comments: There hasn't been a report on this one for a bit, but conditions unfortunately haven't changed much since that early December entry. Intermittent packed snow, bare trail, or ice flow with 1-2" of fresh pow from last weekend. Not enough base to fill in the annoying eroded sections. Some drifting on the ledges and summit. I wore studded trail runners in the woods, then put on rock spikes at the ledges and had no issue except some slipping on ice hidden beneath the thin cover of snow. So watch out for that. The trail is so bony that snowshoes would be a hindrance and borderline hazard until around the ledges...and even then I can't say they'd be advisable.

Despite the disappointing trail conditions, still a beautiful brisk sunrise on a gorgeous clear morning, nice to pause in the tower to layer up for the descent. -5.0* at the TH, 0.5* at the summit.
