Comments
Comments: What a day! There was no wind, and we had views all of the way out to South. We ran across Postal Patty and then Don R - it was so much fun to see both! We started in spikes and changed to snowshoes between N and S because it was soft. We kept them on until the first ice flow on the way back down Mt Kinsman Trail. About half the people we saw were in snowshoes, and the other half were in spikes but not really postholing. Snowshoes were faster for us, so we were happy to use them.
The concerning looking ice flows, between the trailhead and the Bald Peak spur, were soft so they looked worse than they were.
