Comments
Comments: We attempted the summit about two weeks ago and stopped .6 from the summit for lack of snowshoes (we left them in the car & know better) and tricky navigation slowing us down. We returned today with snowshoes (which are still needed) to complete the trek. The trail is icy & rather rough at the lower levels and we needed our microspikes. After the last water crossing, we donned snowshoes at the big log crossing the trail. The trail had some fresh snow broken out with boots to the top. Our snow shoes left a nice clean path, but the snow is soft and the high winds were quickly filling in our steps in the low spots right before the u-turn up the ridge. FYI, the forest service has posted a sign that the Langdon Shelter has been removed.
