Comments
Comments: Pleasant hike through the Deer Hills area. Started at the Baldface Circle parking lot on the Deer Hills Connector trail. Took the Bypass trail to the Deer Hill trail (quick OAB to the spring) to its TH, then back up to the Deer Hill summit. Over to Little Deer Hill, then down Ledges and then up Frost. The Ledges trail is steep and splits at the sign: direct vs bypass. I was descending and opted for the bypass, but had trouble finding the trail until I came upon it as I bushwhacked downhill to the Bypass trail. Decent views from ledges around both summits. I finished on Leach Link and, rather than hike back, I decided on a 1.2 mile road walk on Rt 113. Snow was packed and Hillsound cleats were very helpful. It was icy in spots and it was also bare ground in other, sunny spots. Smooth sailing and no one else to be seen.
