Comments
Comments: Spikes door to door today! We carried snowshoes, but the trail truly didn’t warrant them, even on the ridge. Up until 3050’, it was too boney to use snowshoes. Above that, you could use them if you wanted, but the trail was nicely packed. Met a hiker who had come up Fishin’ Jimmy and he also used just spikes. Snow tonight might make it worthwhile for the ridge in the coming days, especially if the winds pick up and create drifts, but it’s going to take significant snowfall down low before snowshoes would be usable.

Did the side trip to check out Kinsman Flume. Much better than in the summer. Still tough to get a good view of it, though.
