Comments
Comments: After a few fresh inches on Saturday, this route now has full snow cover, a pleasant upgrade from past trail reports! Snow is well-packed most of the way up Mt Kinsman TR, and spikes were sufficient. There were some spots with ice underneath the fresh snow, but nothing spicy or noteworthy. We saw full crampon tracks, but this trail is not steep or icy enough for crampons to be advisable. Snowshoes went for a free ride but could be helpful on Kinsman Ridge, especially between North and South — the topmost snow was a bit drifty and unconsolidated, but people in spikes were not postholing. Summit of South was a bit windswept but fully covered in snow at this point.
