Comments
Comments: We started at eight expecting a sunny 22° day. What we got was about 10°, -6 with the windchill, cloudy and snowing all day! Good thing we are always prepared. We went up Field first and it was absolutely stunning with the recent snow. Someone had broken it out with snow shoes the day before, so we were able to ascend with spikes. Although we brought our snow shoes as we heard Willey was not broken out from Field. Once we got to Field, it got very windy up top and we were so cold and as of about 1 o’clock, it had still not been broken out over to Willey yet. We were not in the mood for that kind of route finding in the fog/snow/temps that late in the day so we decided to skip it and go over to Tom. Willey Range Trail had some pretty deep drifts in the middle for about a few hundred feet where you could’ve put snow shoes on, but we were still trying to get hands online and back to lower elevations and temps. We were able to pass through these few feet without issue. There were a lot of people out yesterday and trails were getting very well packed. In 1-2 spots stepping off trail, we post holed up to our hips, so just be careful stepping off trail. Trail pics on insta at elizacal
