Comments
Comments: Beautiful clear day with pretty nice trail conditions. Probably 90% of the loop was very comfortable in microspikes, the other 10% would be nice in snowshoes but we didn’t feel they were necessary. They would be most helpful on the climb/descent and then the ridge between the peaks. The snow is a little loose on the steep climbs so footing can be tough. Ice patches were small and manageable with microspikes. Lots of butt-sliding on the way down. We went up North Hancock first and saw a lot of people doing the two peaks in the opposite direction; inconclusive which way would be easier.
