Handful of step-overs and duck-unders, but nothing requiring rerouting. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Someone at the trailhead reported a missing dog and another hiker said he saw it bolt after a deer. The dog's name is Remy and he's a brown pointer. I believe the owner is from Massachusetts but has friends in Bartlett. Seemed to know the area well. I believe the owner's phone number is on the dog's tag.
Also, drifts were deep near the peak and nearly consumed our hound/lab mix (she was not happy). |

 | Comments: |
Lots of hidden ice down low just below about an inch of soft powder. It can catch you by surprise so be careful.
Broke trail the last half mile and hit a really deep drift about 500 feet from the peak (it nearly swallowed our dog). Snowshoes are necessary up there (the couple ahead of us turned around with about a half mile to go because they didn't have snowshoes).
Despite the fact that it snowed all day, we still had a bit of a view. We could see Crawford and Resolution, but nothing further. Pics will be up on Instagram @quantum.moxie soon. |
