 | Comments: |
A trace to an inch of new snow fell as of this morning, concealing the small patches of ice. The listed trails were mostly snow/ice free prior to this snowfall, so Microspikes were overkill. The only ice I encountered was near the turnpike at the first height of land, the water crossing, the Ridge Trail near the junction, and the Weeks Trail near the sharp turn. I barebooted with care and was fine. 4-6" of snow needed before snowshoes are viable on this route.
Light snow this morning with temperatures in the 20s. |
