Comments: Another NH 500 highest Friday! This was a pretty straight forward wack up to the summit of Young Mountain (1,990ft) From the parking lot for Flat Mountain Pond/ Bennett St. trail we took a bearing almost due south right to the summit. The woods were fairly open most of the way up and we came across several skid roads that we were on and off of. Around 1,700 ft we encountered 3 or 4 small ledges that were easy enough to navigate around. The last 50 ft or so of elevation was a bit thick in the pines, but still easily passable. The glass register jar on the summit was easy to locate. The note pad inside the jar only has a few pieces of paper left to it and the zip-lock bag has a tear in it. If you plan on heading up please bring a new zip-lock bag and a few pieces of paper. Thanks! We were mostly able to follow our tracks in the snow back down to the parking lot. It was a quick 1.6 miles up and down and took us just about 1.5 hrs
