Crossings were all rock hoppable. Ice wasn't solid enough yet to walk on. |

The trail is very well packed. We bare-booted until we reached the steeps, and then put on crampons, which we kept on until the trail junction on the descent.
There's a lot of ice mixed in under the snow, and crampons are a huge advantage over microspikes. Did not need snowshoes. An ice axe or shortened trekking pole is helpful for stability going up.
The chimney had some ice, bypass was just a little snowy. Bypass around the bypass looked well packed. |
