Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Be careful of the drain in the middle of the parking area about halfway between the road and the picnic tables. It was covered over with snow but soft so my tire sunk into the depression and I had to rock back and forth several times to get out even with AWD.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Drifts
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Not fully frozen but crossable with care to step on rocks or solid ice. It looked like someone had broken through the ice a day or two ago at the first crossing. For both crossings we found the easiest spot to cross being up stream slightly.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A handful of walk arounds between Field & Willey and one on AZ where you had to crawl under a large trunk.

Comments
Comments: We used spikes from the car to the split of Avalon & AZ then snowshoes above that. You probably would be fine with spikes for all of Avalon, all of AZ, and Tom Spur but much of the Willey Range trail had been completely blown in with significant drifts esp on the climb to Willey. There's a good base underneath but with more high winds expected the next few days, our tracks will probably be blown in again.
