Comments
Comments: Parking lot was a sheet of blue ice in the woods snow was packed powder with a very light crust so it would crunch. I carried my spikes and snowshoes never using them. I did pass by two solo hikers that were wearing spikes. Well there was so much much bare ground and rock most all the way until higher up were I always could avoid ice by bushwhacking around in nice open woods. Wind wasn't bad until summit of South Moat and I was wishing I had my googles (?) as I walked to Middle. I did visit a bunch of bumps to enjoy the view. North and NW it looks dark snowy and windy. I felt like I won the lottery these peaks weren't in the clouds and views south were gorgeous. Moats are good to hike.
