Comments
Comments: Minimal snow at the trailhead, increases steadily as you climb. 4-6” on the ridges with deeper drifts in spots. Bare booted up to North Carter trail junction then snowshoes across until the steep section coming off Dome. Switched to spikes to get down the steep section. Wildcat Ridge trail was not broken out from 19 Mile and there were deep drifts. About halfway up Wildcat A, I encountered a well packed snowshoe trail that I followed to the summit. The snowshoe path continued down towards 19Mile, and presumably joined it at some point, but it did not follow the true trail (i followed the blazes up from 19 Mile). From Wildcat A to Wildcat D was well packed out. Extensive snowmaking on Polecat made the decent unpleasant.
