 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Mt Kinsman Trailhead off Route 116. NOTE: huge divot crosses driveway into parking lot - many people were driving up path on right to avoid the divot, but that's kind of where you park, so, it's a bit confusing. On the exit, I drove out the driveway and it was SUPER bumpy |

Good day to just dub around and be on a 4K. Really much better than expected. I put on micros around the Bald Peak Spur and kept them on to the summit. Carried snowshoes as did many others I saw today. Decent cloudy views from summit outlook. After the summit, I went down to the shelter to get a good look at the Kinsman Pond - always a gorgeous view and today no different looking back up. Still remembering fondly packrafting in it a few years back now. From the pond (snow was drifty to the shelter and wind though not bad was bitter cold). From there, I descended and hit Bald Peak - not having been there in a few years, it was very special. Then, I poked around The Flume - I was super-careful not to get too close to the edge!!! |
