.7 mile walk on the road to the trailhead as they close the road a bit away from the lodge. Easy walk but adds some mileage. |

A delightful but brisk day. Bluebird skies, around 10-20 degrees ambient temp with winds up to 30-40mph. Made the windchill well below zero.
Trails were soft powder, slightly packed down by snowshoers in front of us. But it was a bit of a slog in boots and microspikes. Snowshoes would’ve been nice! Microspikes were helpful once above treeline. |
