Comments
Comments: as a follow-up tp previous report. We used spikes or Hillsound trail crampons throughout today. While this footware was good most places there were long areas of drifted snow, especially between Field and Tom, in many places knee deep or more, that snowshoes were the right choice today. Based on some previous posts we had left snowshoes in the car and I will say we felt awful with the mess left behind by us and other groups we saw travelling without snowshoes. My bad..

Once below 3800 feet or so on the Range trail the drifting eased up . Mount Tom spur and A-Z well packed. Some signs of traffic towards Zealand.

Very cold day on the ridge..nice to run into Rocket, Jeb and crew. Temps around -10, winds in the teens made it a quick trip with few stops. Thanks Valerie and Ali for a fun adventure in the mountains..It was gorgeous today with some very interesting light at times.
