Road is plowed but icy. It could probably be navigated with FWD, but I’m glad I had AWD. |

Trail is in great condition for spikes all the way—no blowdowns, very few postholes, well packed out. Above tree line is crunchy. No need for crampons, but it’s noticeably crunchier than below.
Fairly cold up there today. Our thermometers had 0 at the summit, and we estimated the winds sustained at 25. The summit cone blocks the worst of the wind, but it was still cold! Winter is back! |
