Comments
Comments: Thin cover and bony until about 2800’. Barebooted to about there, then donned snowshoes. Good snow depth up high, 6-8” fresh in drifts. Flume to Liberty well tracked out after today, with multiple snowshoers traversing. Followed one other in snowshoes, who turned around at Flume. Windy day, but not crazy (they were telling me 95-125mph winds at Lincoln Woods, it was probably half that lol). Seemed calmer on Liberty, was able to sit for a bit and snack comfortably. A few booters came up after me. Chewed the trail a bit, but no postholing. I went to full crampons for the descent of the ladders, which were sort of half filled in and a bit tricky, but certainly doable in snowshoes or spikes. Back to bareboots from around the same spot as the ascent.
