Lots of blowdowns mostly on the ridge between the North Carter jct and summit. Also blowdowns on the first mile of Imp south. |

Decided to respect AMC's private property, facilities and employees and parked at the real Imp South trailhead and enjoyed the lovely walk in the woods rather than the cut-through.
Lots of running water on North Carter Trail but it's largely frozen over so you can walk on a lot of it. I used snowshoes from the Imp/N. Carter Trail jct all the way to the summit and microspikes below that.
1 inch of snow at the trailhead, 2 ft of drifts on the ridge. Crunchy ice beneath |
