|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Ravine Lodge Road is closed at the winter gate, about 0.75 miles below the Ravine Lodge. Parking is limited. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Drifts, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
IMPORTANT: Dartmouth has posted signs warning they may close the Baker River bridge (which provides access to the base of Gorge Brook Trail, and thus Hurricane Trail and Snapper Trail) in high-water conditions. Other than that, all water crossings were bridged or trivial to step over. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many blowdowns above the first clear-cut view and ending soon after the second clear-cut view. In two or three places that requires one to leave the trail briefly to walk around. Most are easy to step over or step around. But this trail will NOT be skiable until the blowdowns are cleared. |

 | Comments: |
Moosilauke is great as always. Trail was well packed; we were fine in microspikes but bare boots would also be possible. Snow depth varied from about 2' at the base to 4' near the top, so snowshoes are needed for off-trail travel. |
