Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: In the plowed turnaround at the top of Mountain Rd. in Holderness. Plenty of parking. Perch Pond Road was muddy in sections.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Mud - Significant, Snow - Spring Snow, Slush
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Old Mountain Road itself is sort of a brook with some crossings. One has to hike to the left side of it. Crossings were not an issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is not a trailhead sign nor any sort of blazes at the start but it is obvious where to go. A LOT of water coming down Old Mountain Road from the rain, which gouges the trail and forming high banks on both sides. There are green arrow signs on trees further up. With no trailhead sign and lack of blazes, the trail feels abandoned.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw a couple of happy dogs. Hiker looks like he lived nearby since we were the only car in the lot when we got back.

Comments
Comments: Today, this entire route was a combination of mud, ice, frozen snow and soft snow on the ridge. Microspikes were fine and snowshoes wouldn't have been of any use. Snow depths are also fairly minimal even on the ridge. Old Mountain Rd. has some stretches of ice. We stuck to the left side of the road with rocks so happy we had on our rock spikes.

Warm temps in the 40s and no wind made for a comfortable stay at the summit.
