 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking in the lot off the Kanc was tight, and the lot surface was very much snow covered. Keep that in mind if you have a low-clearance, non 4WD/AWD vehicle. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All major crossings were snow/ice bridged, although the bridges probably won't last much longer with the incoming rain and mild temps. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some scattered blowdowns on the Mt. Osceola Trail that were a mix of step-overs, duck-unders, and walk-arounds. No other issues |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
 | Bugs: |
Saw one buzzing about while hiking back down the Greeley Ponds Trail to the Kanc. I knew it was gonna be mild out, but I didn't think it'd be that mild... |

 | Comments: |
The route from the trailhead off the Kanc was well broken out all the way up to and over Osceola and East Osceola. That said, the snow was getting soft and wet due to the rising temps, so I wore snowshoes the whole time (although lots of people were getting by in light traction). Looks like the snow on the trail will continue to soften through tomorrow due to the even milder forecasted temps, so snowshoes might be the way to go. |
