Saw a few. Nice dog trail. Would not recommend taking the dog into the deep post holed snow on the sumit loop counter clockwise. Met a guy that did that, and he had to carry the dog |

This info is for anyone hoping to get out early tomorrow before the rain makes a mess of the trail. Trail is well packed and perfect for micro spikes, don’t recall any ice at all. Off trail is knee deep snow, so watch your step when moving aside for there. It warmed up today and with the sun the snow softened up in places, it should freeze up tonight and provide a nice grip for the spikes. The summit loop clockwise is fine. Counter clockwise is a post holed mess of deep snow, blown down trees, and not broken out. Unless you can follow post hole to hole, it is slow and hard work. [In other words, you should be wearing snowshoes.] |
