Well what a day!!! Inversion at it’s finest with a blue bird day! I barebooted further than you should and then put my snowshoes on. I used them up to little haystack then swapped to spikes as I would have ruined my snowshoes on the rocks/ice but it hurt my snowshoe sole when there were spurts of lots of snow. I was down to my base layer on the ridge with sunglasses on. Whoever choose anything above treeline today got a treat and a half! Coming down from lafayette was a little messy but still boney. I put snowshoes on at the hut since I hate spikes but the lady I ended up hiking with did fine in spikes. I did take a trip or slide or two and so did she. Could not have asked for better weather out there! |
