 | Comments: |
Clear starry morning with a bright crescent moon and the snow was all glittery. The trail is well packed and traversed until the upper junction with yellow jacket before the bridge on Smarts Brook tr. From there the trail was covered with new snow from the bridge up to Sandwich Range. The snow was loose powder. I wore snow shoes the entire hike for better traction. Very slippery on the steep descents. Hard ice underneath in some areas. Several hikers had snow shoed from Sandwich Dome along the Ridge to Jennings and Noon, making that section packed and easier. Get up there before the rain comes! |
