about 10 minutes in from kiosk at Gale River Trail there is a big tree top in the middle of the trail, can go around or though it.. |

XC ski trail, Gale River Rd. and beginning of Gale River Trail hard packed ice and trace amount of snow..nice snowshoe track up higher with today a layer of an inch or two of powder..same with GRT and Twinway and Frost..I used microspikes all day though I did have snowshoes..maybe near S Twin summit they could have been used..trail was so nice you could not feel the microspikes on your boots but they stuck like glue to the trail..
a few views from the hut and at outlook up to Galehead and down lower as descending..intention was to do just Galehead but felt ok after the climb up..but will need to get S Twin view in winter!! |
